Shadow People Theories!

The Shadows Beholder.

Ever been laying down watching television and to your surprise you see a dark figure running out of the corner of your eye. Or ever seen a humanoid shadow or figure. That is what is known as shadow people. Every shadow person or shadow men experience have some similar features. Most accounts state a black humanoid figures that lacks mouth or ears, eyes are variable. Another factor that stays the same throughout most experiences is that of lack of mass, but they are still said to be two dimensional. Observers of shadow people say that the beings appear on the
edge of their viewing field and disappear into walls or nearby objects when spotted. Other experiences say that the shadow person presents itself in the centre of the ‘victims' field of vision. A small percentage of experiences state that the shadow people have either attacked or raped their assailants. But the question is still highly debated about in the
paranormal field.

There are many explanations of what these beings could and can
be:

Minds: Firstly let me be the sceptic and say that one of the explanations of shadow people is our minds. The human brain tends to make illusions to compensate for what it cannot understand. Another sceptical view is that of headlights from cars and shadows from birds flying past.

Minds (again): Shadow beings can also manifest due numerous negative thoughts, our negative energy takes form and motive. This phenomenon can also be called by some as astral vampires.

Ghosts: I know that most ghost apparitions are white and misty but there are similarities between ghost sightings and shadow people sightings the most documented of these being glowing red
or yellow eyes.

Demons: Let's face it. Blacker than black shadows and red glowing eyes, sounds like some form of demon. But if they are demons why do they not do anything to us and more importantly
why do they make themselves known to us?

Astral Bodies: What if what we are seeing is just other people in out of body experiences? Maybe the only way for the conscious mind to see astral bodies is as shadows.

Interdimensional Beings: Science has proven that there is more than one dimension and what if these beings are just our brothers and sisters from other dimensions who could be part of a multi-verse for all we know? It could be ourselves checking in on us.

Aliens: Another explanation is these entities are aliens and are observing us, that strengthens the argument of these shadow people making no or little interaction with conscious beings.

Science: Before I get into to this I have to say that there are no scientific studies conducted on shadow people and if there are, they are yet to be ‘released. Many other bloggers and people in the paranormal field have said that maybe this has to do with Hypnogogia which states
that a person can be thinking clearly yet be seeing images that are appearing in THEIR dreams.

Heidi Hollis a researcher on shadow people can be quoted as saying that:

“Shadow people have been around from the beginning of time and are a dark influence upon society. They also relate to negative alien entities such as Reptilians and Greys and MAY BE part of
the overall phenomenon”

Hollis also states that there are many different ways to eliminate experiences with shadow people by:

- Learning to let go of fear.
- Stand your ground and deny the being.
- Focus on positive thoughts.
- Use the name of Jesus (I would add any religious people,
faith is anything or anyone can play a major role in combating
dark spirits)
- Keep light around you.
- Bless your room with bottled spring water.

These are all the theories I could find on the Shadow People, I can only presume that the majority of you have not experienced this phenomenon so I have put together some of the most
notorious and well known experiences:

On one particular evening I had just turned off the my night stand lamp. As I turned over to get comfortable a black figure stood over my bed facing me I felt it as a male don't know why stood over my bed looking down at me. He was dark black the light from the outside of my bedroom allowed me to see him clearer. He wore a hood over his head and he looked like a monk. Though I could not see his facial features or his hands as he bend over me I just flung my hands in an aggressive motion to hit what would have been his face. I did not feel fear or any feelings of doom just an aggressive out burst towards it. It immediately disappeared. I have never had an other encounter again.



It looks like I'm not crazy after all. I have encountered shadow people when I was very young, possibly at the age of 9. I contracted the flu and had a very high fever. I went into the kitchen to cool myself off with water and when I turned my head right to face the dining room I seen around 7 to 11 shadow people moving around the table counterclockwise at a fast pace. Their appearance is still clear to me. Tall, thin, no feet or facial features, all black, and to say the least having long top hats. I was then rushed to the hospital for treatment then brought back home. Years later I told my younger brother about my experience and to my suprise, he seen the same thing when he almost died from a fever at the age of 6. I remember the incident but never asked him. The beings were at the living room. This is no joke. Those things are real and are not up to no good. Terrifying as hell.



About ten years ago, I was coming home from work, around 3 or 4 am. I owned a janitorial business, and followed the same route five nights a week.

I was very tired, and believe I was half asleep at the wheel, when all of a sudden, and man dressed totally in black stepped from between two cars on the side of the road.

He wore a black cowboy hat, a long black duster, black pants and shoes. He had no face.

If he hadn't stepped from between the two cars and startled me, I would have rammed into the cars.

This shadow man, with no face, saved my car and possibly my life...or at least saved me from harms way.

When I looked back, there was no one there. This spooked me, yet kept me alert enough to get home safely five minutes later. I'll always remember this!

My second Story of Shadow People -- Less than a year after seeing the man in black (see above story), I moved to a place called Hangman Valley, in Spokane, Washington. Legend has it that Native Americans and possibly Negroes were hanged in this valley.

I lived on 16th Street, and if I turned my head, I could see a large totem pole about 300 yards from my porch.

Every night, I would sit out on the porch for a smoke, and it got quite dark. We'd disabled the streetlight, upon learning we paid about 19$ a month that we could barely afford.

I was no longer working, as I had a baby prematurely.

Quite often, I would get a strange feeling, almost like fear. Then I would see shadows darting across the yard, just out of the corner of my eyes.

Not once did I actually see one dead on, but there were thousands of them, trekking across my side lawn.

When my eyes lit upon on, he would sprint faster, and be gone.

They would travel across the yard in groups of three or four.

My husband, who is Native American, and had no clue of the little valleys history, called them shadow people. He said they meant no harm.

I do know that my family had lived directly across the street some 65 years previously. Perhaps these shadow people were related in some fashion..who knows?

I saw them often, and after a while, was almost comforted by their presence.

Can Mirrors Be Used As Portals?

Nearly every child in my generation has heard of Bloody Mary or some form of urban legend regarding mirrors. But is there any truth in this, can mirrors be used as a portal to the spiritual world or even a parallel universe. When mirrors were first invented, many people regarded them as a tool to communicate with the dead as send messages to the spiritual world. Many cultures still believe that mirrors should be covered after a death in the family to prevent the souls or spirits of the deceased being trapped in a mirror (most people in china and japan do this). Some people even believe that if you look into a mirror after someone has died, the spirit or ghost can drag you into the mirror and keep you there forever. Joshua Warren (Coast to Coast AM) said people have seen dead relatives manifest and actually come OUT OF the mirror, and they could talk to them. One guy who took a small recorder into the room had the most awful noises on the tape -- growling and snarling like from a demon.

Many old mirrors thick and old and silver back stained are said to be haunted by the ghosts of those that died. Their image forever frozen or trapped in the glass. Some recent stories on eBay tell of people selling their antique mirrors that were either bought or passed down the generations in their families and said to be very haunted . It is said by some that if a ghost or lost soul wanders into your home during the night, a mirror can capture it. An old New Orleans Voodoo way to capture a ghost was to put a large standing mirror in your bedroom door way. When the ghost thinking it is a door enters the mirror it is forever trapped in the rooms that were reflected in it when caught not the real rooms.

Mirrors are also used in an act called Scrying, which for those of you that don't know is a magic practice that involves seeing things psychically in a medium, usually for purposes of obtaining spiritual visions and less often for purposes of divination or fortune-telling. It appears that an everyday use (for most) people has been and still is being used as means to communinicate with the dead.

Ama Nazra from the Victorian Paranormal Connection states that we can ‘close’ mirrors. “To close a mirror: the Reiki symbol Choku Rei, if you have Reiki, is lovely. Just sign it over the mirror three times. The Christian cross works really well too, if you like that one. Or you can hold up your hand, and with intent (thought) shut the mirror. Energy follows thought.”

It is safe to say that I wont be messing with mirrors anytime soon, that is why I choose to research rather than participate.
